Plus Zero Five Point Calm

by Maria Kilpi, Burgtheater Vestibül

A young woman visits her recently widowed grandmother for two days to discuss the past wartime experiences in Finland. However, when the young woman attempts to film her grandmother’s memories, she avoids the topic. In the end, she returns to Helsinki without any footage but with many memories of her conversation with her grandmother.

Cornelia Rainer focuses on the mechanisms and process of remembering, as well as the challenges of documenting memories in her production. “A generational portrait that aims to be realistic and lifelike.”
