“Pünktchen and Anton” tells the story of a friendship between two children from different backgrounds: While Pünktchen comes from a wealthy family, Anton’s mother struggles to provide for him and doesn’t know where the next meal will come from due to her illness, preventing her from working. Because of this, Pünktchen goes out begging on the streets every evening with her friend to earn extra money. While the nightly outings are an exciting adventure for Pünktchen, they represent a daily struggle for survival for Anton.
Cornelia Rainer stages Kästner’s children’s classic for the first time with children in the lead roles and with a children’s orchestra.
